I have been a Registered Childminder since 1993. I hold a level 3
qualification in Childcare and Education. I am also a qualified Childcare Tutor and Assessor (previously assessing and tutoring Childminders, Teaching Assistants and Childcare Workers). I live in a detached property on Ashgate Road in Chesterfield and have been dropping off and picking up children from Brockwell School and Nursery since 1993. Brockwell School is a short walk from my home.

For the last twenty years I have specialised in school age
children, this advantage being that age appropriate activities are not limited. Visits to the park and small intricate play equipment are not exempt. It also means I can focus solely on your child and join in with games and help with homework or any issues your child may wish to talk about. I provide a safe, clean, nurturing setting which is inclusive and promotes your child’s confidence and self esteem. I promote British values and also maintain a practice whereby children have choices and are allowed to make decisions. Children are also encouraged to assess risks for themselves, installing essential skills for life.

The children at the setting support each other and often regard their peers as a large family unit.
